SANDALWOOD NUT OIL

Attention! Do not confuse sandalwood essential oil, which is obtained from the “core” of the sandalwood trunk. Sandalwood oil. Obtained from the fruit of sandal nuts.

Derived from the sandalwood tree Santalum spicatum (Western Australian sandalwood), this new oil is making a splash!

Historically, sandalwood trees have been used because of their value wood, but recent studies have given us a new sandalwood oil walnut.

Sandalwood oil is different from wood oil. Its composition is also distinguished primarily by the presence of a unique component - ximenic acid (XA) in high concentration.

Aboriginal Australians have a history of over 40,000 years of sandalwood use, long before the more widely known essential oils. It is believed to have been used internally and externally for skin irritations and ulcers.

To date, there are a number of clinical studies, and many more are ongoing, to prove the value of the main component of nuts, xymenic acid (trans-11-octadecene-9-ic acid), especially as an active ingredient for fighting processes_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ skin aging. They have been selected by a number of leading cosmetic companies who are considering this active ingredient as a natural and powerful ingredient in future products. It is believed that ximenic acid protects the skin from aging processes and improves blood circulation. It also firms and tightens the skin by reducing the degradation of hyaluronic acid and collagen, resulting in a better complexion.

Our Organic Sandalwood Seed Oil, also called Sandalwood Oil, is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Western Australian sandalwood tree (Santalum spicatum), native to the semi-arid regions on the fringes of Southwest Australia. Sandalwood seed oil is a rich source of one of the rarest triple (acetylenic) polyunsaturated fatty acids: xymenic acid (also known as santalbic acid), widely known for its unique anti-inflammatory properties and exceptional nourishing emollient properties.

Sandalwood oil has been proven to help protect the skin by improving elasticity, reducing inflammation, and stimulating blood circulation for healthier looking skin. This golden carrier oil is a very smooth and non-sticky dry oil that is a fantastic ingredient in beauty and skin care products. Due to its high content of omega-9 oleic acid, sandalwood oil has regenerative properties and is thus well suited for use on stressed, irritated skin, as well as in anti-aging cosmetics. This light, non-greasy oil is great for sensitive skin, especially the face.

The high content of antioxidants in sandalwood oil protects against hair loss, and the moisturizing properties of this oil are effective in conditioning hair, increasing smoothness and volume. Sandalwood seed oil can also be used to repair dull hair and add a healthy shine.

Chemical and toxicological studies showed that sandalwood seed oil is composed mainly of unsaturated fatty acids. The presence of an unusual acetylenic fatty acid has been confirmed. Non oil has been found to reduce fat deposition. Acetylenic fatty acids are known to inhibit eicosanoids and stimulate certain enzymes. Eicosanoids are involved in a variety of processes such as muscle growth, immune responses to injected toxins and pathogens.

Eicosanoids dilate blood vessels, lowering blood pressure, causes platelet disaggregation (prevents the formation of blood clots).
